REPORTS ON VISITORS TO IDACA
Visit to IDACA by the Director of the Institute of
Co-operative Economy Development (ICED),
Vietnam Cooperative Alliance
The Vietnam Cooperatives Alliance (VCA) has recently been strengthening the Institute of Co-operative Economy Development (ICED), which is under its umbrella, in order to enhance its domestic and overseas education and information activities. This time, as part of this initiative, Ms. Nguyen Dinh Thi Thuy Anh, director of the ICED, visited IDACA on September 10 to exchange views and deepen exchanges. As the IECD and IDACA are both training and research institutions, the visit consisted of studying such matters as the “promotion of exchanges between executives and regular employees” and “exchanges of teaching materials and information.”
In the past, Director Anh accompanied her husband and resided in Japan for about 10 years. As she could still speak Japanese quite well, the conversation was held in Japanese. Regarding minute details, however, a son of her relative studying economics at JF Oberlin University accompanied her and served as an interpreter.Director Anh also visited Japan in 2011 and observed cooperatives in Aichi Prefecture that produce, process, and sell agricultural products and marine products to collect information on “production and distribution methods,” “environmental protection,” and relevant “governmental measures.” Explaining that she wanted to continue updating information, Director Anh requested IDACA to pro-vide information.
Finally, as a symposium hosted by the IECD targeting the leaders of cooperatives was held in late October 2013, Director Anh had requested that IDACA definitely send lecturers to this symposium. IDACA consulted VCA, which has been very helpful with IDACA’s training courses, and sent over-seas Cooperative Development Consultant Abe to the symposium.
