REPORTS ON TRAINING COURSES
Observing Manifold JA Activity
Commissioned by JICA, IDACA held the JICA Training Course for Community Leader Development Program from October 4 to November 1, 2008. The course aimed to develop leaders who will work for the improvement of rural areas and the vitalization of rural life. There were 23 participants19 of them women, who comprised leaders of vocational groups, officers and staffers of agricultural cooperatives and government officers, all from Thailand.
Lectures were given on the JA Women's Association activity for improving the quality of life and promoting the wellbeing of the elderly, as well as on leadership and communication in group activity, local production for local consumption and the farmers' market.
In the study visit, they went to JA Umajimura, JA Nangoku-shi, JA Kitashinshu-Miyuki, JA Matsumoto-Highland, JA Hadano and JA Iwate-Hanamaki. In these visits, they saw JA facilities, activities of the JA Women's Association and a JA Agricultural Festival.
