Commissioned by ICA, IDACA held the ICA/Japan Training Project for Capacity Building for Marketing 2008 (2nd Course) from November 5 to November 30, 2008.
It gathered 21 government officers and farmers' organization leaders from nine countriesBrunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.
Lectures were delivered on the distribution system of farm produce in Japan, JA marketing business, actual practices of JA farm guidance and marketing business, and the sustainable efforts by JA to supply safe and reliable agricultural commodities. Study visits were made to JA Tomisato-shi, JA Chiba- Mirai, JA Chiba Prefectural Union and ASEAN Rural Community Plaza. There, they saw for themselves the operations of JA marketing business and some of the facilities of JA Zen-noh Chiba head quarters.
